Modular combat drone

INHIBITOR is a modular military drone with different unit types and a firing mechanism.

This mechanism is designed to enable special forces military units to fly a few meters ahead and be the “first man through the door” in highly dangerous combat situations. This saves lives, as the first soldiers through the door are usually wounded or killed.

It can locate hostages and enemies without any visuals. It’s a low-flying drone, controlled by the Special Forces unit.
The soldier standing a few meters away decides whether or not to fire.

Key features

Firing capability

While other companies have developed small surveillance drones for use by military personnel in the field, Tonner Drones has gone a step further and researched and developed the technology needed to enable these smaller drones to fire both lethal and non-lethal projectiles.

Patented stabilization device

One of the main challenges of firing a projectile from a smaller drone is that the recoil of the shot destabilizes the drone, causing it to veer off course and crash.

Over 7 years have been successfully spent on a patent application covering a critical technological component for its drone – the recoil ejection system.
The Recoil Ejection System technology ensures the drone’s operation and stable flight when a projectile is fired from the modular component.

Simplified piloting

The operator can control the drone without extensive training, and retains the final say in the firing decision.

Intelligent or manual targeting

The combat drone allows the operator to aim at a target either manually or with the help of artificial intelligence. The video stream coupled with the AI will detect and recognize one or more targets.

What are the capabilities of Tonner Drones’ INHIBITOR combat drone?

Tonner Drones has solved the aerodynamic complexities of indoor flight and the stability complexities of aerial photography in a similar scenario.

The modular component can be customized and adjusted to suit customer requirements, including lethal (bullets, grenades, rockets) and non-lethal (tasers) capabilities that can even include seed planting for reforestation purposes.

AI and control of the INHIBITOR combat drone

  • The drone is semi-automated, manually operated and automatically stabilized.
  • The AI supports human detection, facial recognition and shooting accuracy.
  • The drone can fly through doorways, narrow corridors, up and down stairs, recognize faces, aim at the target, and has both lethal and non-lethal capabilities to neutralize threats.

How does the INHIBITOR combat drone fire projectiles without recoil?

Tonner Drones has spent several years developing the anti-recoil ejection technology needed to ensure that once a projectile has been fired by the drone, it remains stable in the air.

This ingenious patented system enables the drone to compensate for recoil and quickly aim accurately at a target.

The result is an agile, low-altitude drone that operates indoors and outdoors in urban environments, and fires a projectile with an accuracy of 30 cm at a distance of 12 meters.

What is the INHIBITOR military drone’s anti-recoil patent technology?

  • The Recoil Ejection System technology ensures stable drone operation and flight when a projectile is fired from the modular component.
  • The assembly contains an ejection channel and an anti-recoil channel.
  • There is an anti-recoil activation mechanism housed within the structure.
  • The design incorporates a barrier that prevents pressure communication between the ejection gas pressure pulse in the ejection channel and the anti-recoil gas pressure pulse in the anti-recoil channel to reduce the recoil of the ejection assembly during firing.
  • The result is that when a projectile is fired from the drone, it can maintain stable flight and continuous operation.
